Edit your photo’s EXIF data

Fix a wrong date, add copyright, rename the camera or change the location. The editor works locally in your browser, so you can inspect or change metadata without sending images to a server.

What you can change

Edit the date taken, camera make and model, lens, software, artist, copyright, description, comment, exposure settings, orientation and GPS location. Anything you leave alone is preserved byte-for-byte. Clear a field to delete that tag.

Editing works on JPEG, PNG and WebP files. When a photo is edited, two things are left out of the new copy: the camera brand’s private “maker note” (things like autofocus details) and the tiny preview image stored inside the file. Editing would break their internal links, so they are dropped instead of risking a damaged file. The image itself is never re-compressed.

Questions

Does editing upload my photo?

No. The editor is designed to work locally in your browser so you can inspect or change metadata without sending images to a server.

Will it change the original file?

No. Your browser can’t modify files in place. You download a new copy and keep the original.

Is it okay to fake a date or location?

Use it for fixing mistakes: scanned photos, wrong camera clocks, photos taken with location services off. Please do not use it to mislead people.
